T4T: Trans 4 Trans: Trans Joy
T4T (Trans For Trans) (adj.) --> A description of my orientation, and a description of my politics.
T4T comes from personal ads which use these kinds of acronyms to communicate what type of person an individual is looking for (usually in a romantic and/or sexual context), similar to "F4F" or "M4F" (Female For Female, and Male For Female) and other variations.
T4T communicates my desire to love and support, in all ways, not just romantically or sexually, other trans people. It is an expression of my belief that being trans is not a curse, nor is it an inherently negative experience. Trans people are not, and do not all want to be, facsimiles of cis people (I have no desire to be cis). We do not need to be measured against standards of cis beauty and worth (nor do cis people). We do not need to be measured against cis standards of what a trans person should look like, act like, or what history a trans person should have (usually, that a trans person should have always known they were trans, that they should have shown "signs" in the form of adhering to gender stereotypes associated with their identity, that they should currently be gender conforming, i.e. masculine trans men and feminine trans women, that they should be heterosexual, etc.).
T4T represents a complete rejection of cisnormativity, and a rejection of transness viewed through a negative lens that blames trans people for the harm transphobia does ot us. When we can reject the idea that men, women, and nonbinary people have strict roles, that trans people should look and act a certain way, that we should have a certain history, then we move closer to liberation.
